Abengoa Water

Abengoa is an international company that applies innovative technology solutions for sustainable development in the energy and environment sectors, generating electricity from the sun, producing biofuels, supplying water through water desalinization and water reuse technologies among others and recycling industrial wastes.
Abengoa Water, the water branch of Abengoa, heads the promotion, investment, development and operation of water treatment plants with strong technologic development. It manages and operates water infrastructures and facilities, most of them under concession agreements. These include large desalination projects in Maghreb, China and India and Western Africa for a total capacity around 1,000,000 m3/d. Abengoa Water concentrates on Research, Development and Innovation by dedicating significant human and economic resources to its investigation projects. This know-how, boosted by Abengoa Water R&D&I Center capabilities and coupled with Abengoa Water previous knowledge in plants operation, enables the company to bring viable solutions on marked value-added projects which require specific knowledge while securing a return on investment.

Fujifilm

Fujifilm is a global company with many production locations all around the world. With 900 employees Fujifilm Manufacturing Europe B.V. in Tilburg the Netherlands, is one of the largest production sites outside Japan. Fujifilm Tilburg produces colour paper and offset plates and accommodates a large R&D centre (TRL) with 110 employees. Based on its core competences and the corporate philosophy TRL started R&D activities in the field of membranes for sustainable energy and environment. Fujifilm has already proven to be capable of developing enhanced membranes that are competitive on quality. Besides that, Fujifilm has forced a breakthrough for lowering the cost prices of membranes by developing a patented technology for the online-production of membranes.

Water Supply and Sanitation Technology Platform

The Water supply and sanitation Technology Platform was initiated by the European Commission in 2004 to promote coordination and collaboration of Research and Technology Development in the water industry. Through our Strategic Research Agenda they provide strategic answers for the water research future challenges. WssTP is led by industries in collaboration with academics, research organisations and water users to improve efficiency and financial opportunities in the sector. WssTP is recognized by the European Commission and National governments as the reference in Research & Technology water sector. WssTP works with National Representatives through the Mirror State Members Groups including government representatives from 27 European countries. WssTP has a strong network of Members and contributors involved in its activities including the delivering of research strategic vision and the production of
evidenced based reports identifying future research needs. From Fundamental Research to implementation, WssTP is proactive in identifying future challenges.
