New Membranes for EDM stage
New generation ion exchange membranes developed by FUJIFILM are screened for the EDM application at high salt concentrations. These membranes, which are designed for higher permselectivity at high salt concentrations and low water permeation, have been characterized in terms of permselectivity, electrical resistance and water transport. For membrane selection energy consumption and ion transport have been evaluated.
The use of these membranes for real RO brines has been validated at bench scale.
